Benjamin N. Feder has been named as a Fellow by the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), which is the most highly recognized estate planning and trust organization in the country. Benjamin joins Benton Strauss, William Weinsheimer, and Mary Cascino, all of whom are existing ACTEC Fellows at Strauss & Malk LLP, which is extraordinary for a firm of only 15 lawyers. ACTEC is comprised of approximately 2,700 lawyers nationwide who represent the country's top trust and estate planning attorneys. In Illinois alone, less than 100 attorneys have been named to this prestigious list of lawyers.

To be eligible for membership as a Fellow in ACTEC, a lawyer must have no less then 10 years of active experience practicing estate planning and trust law. Finally, membership as a Fellow in ACTEC is obtained through an election from the Board of Regents in the College. Individual attorneys meeting the criteria for membership are then nominated by Fellows of the College and subjected to careful review by both state and national membership selection committees.

All ACTEC Fellows make substantial contributions to the field of trust and estate law through writing, lecturing, teaching, and bar leadership activities. The Fellows work together to fulfill these primary goals:

• Enhance their ability to provide the most efficient and highest quality services to their clients;
• Develop qualified trust and estate counselors;
• Improve and reform probate, trust and tax laws, procedures, and standards of professional responsibility; and
• Cooperate with bar associations and other organizations with similar missions.
